Developing a New Brand.
This is the kind of project I live for! A new business with plans to bring  innovative products into the marketplace, contacted me about developing their brand. This new company will be the parent company to several businesses, each launching their own specialized products. I am so excited to be working with them on this project as I have also been asked to assist with the other companies that they have in development.

For KUR-NON, the parent company, my client asked for a bold and colorful logo that had a fun yet corporate feel to it. They already had a firm idea of the color palette they wanted so, starting from there, I set out to give them what they asked for while hopefully exceeding their expectations. The client hoped that the logo would have an interesting enough shape that a customer who buys products from one of their brands and sees the KUR-NON logo on the packaging would be moved to search for the brand online to learn more about who they are and about some of their other products.

Business Card Design + Mockup

Identities That Connect ...
Hang-it is the first product being launched by KUR-NON since being founded. It will be marketed to lovers of winter sports and is the first in a series of new products being planned. The logo incorporates an iconic representation of the actual product and uses angled edges and partially cut off letters that give it a feeling as though it belongs in the same mountains that this company's customers enjoy spending their time on.
Logo, Packaging + Mockup
In developing the look for the packaging there were several things to consider. This project would serve as an exercise in building a foundation for the look of the brand. The design needed to be bold (with a focus on appealing visually to avid snowboarders) and professional to help assure potential buyers that hang-it is a quality product.

Another thing to consider while creating this design was that it would heavily influence the website design that was being built concurrently. Fortunately for me, I am also working with the website development team to ensure that branding remains consistent across platforms.

The mountains on the top left of the box front, as well as the snowboard on the left side, were created in Adobe Illustrator for use as elements in branded materials.
